It offers good service. Whatever you need is this quiet and vintage room with free WiFi and gorgeous views plus extra bed. Quiet atmosphere, nevertheless some people working here are not so helpful...

We were travelling between Rome and Milan, by car, in less than 48 hours. We were not sure how far we would get, and so booked a hotel very late. It was La Capannina, and we loved it. The hotel staff were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. We had room 33, with its own private balcony, large and overlooking the Mediterranean. The room was very, very clean and well appointed. The furnishings were a bit older, but it is the best price to quality factor hotel I have ever stayed in. I took a brochure with me, because next time I am near Genoa, I will stay there.

The proximity to the Corso Italia, port and to the Lido is great. The staff at the reception was very friendly.
We stayed at the famous room N. 10, without any airco. On the other hand this room has direct access on the large terrace (with seats and sunbeds), which made the relativelly small room more pleasant. The worst thing is the ackward-shape shower, which is very unconfortable and constantly slippery. The breakfast is up to Italian standard (very ascetic self-service, incl. Boiling eggs:-)), however, the service there is terrible and you have to ask again and again for missing things..

The staff were extremely helpful, kind & friendly. Also, I was lucky enough to be upgraded to a large double room without charge, but only because I was staying 12 nights and the room was available anyway. I must point out too that they were extremely accommodating to me even though I had brought bike with me from the UK. They let me keep it inside the hotel instead of locking it up outside on the street because they were concerned for its security. This is exceptional hospitality!
The breakfast has been criticised for not being adequate, but if you expect continental, and not English breakfast, then there won't be any nasty surprises. My only 2 comments about the breakfast were: the milk & fruit juice were not fresh and the egg cooking machine didn't accurately tell you when the eggs were cooked to soft or hard. I tried to time it, but it still got it undercooked. I would also have like to have had air conditioning in the room, but the fan and splashing myself with water seemed to do the trick.

Helpful staff though barely speaking english; good location pretty near a sea embankment (Corso Italia).
Awful room with no windows looking on the street, only with two doors; disgusting bathroom with mould on walls and with outstandingly uncomfortable bath cabin; the floor had no heating system being designed with tiles and was very uncomfortable to walk on with bare feet; the room was located right near the hotel bar and sometimes it was extremely noisy late at night because of people shouting while playing cards; on the first day of my arrival a guy on the reception tried to sell me wifi internet access though in Booked.net reservation printout was written "wifi free of charge all over the hotel", so I needed to prove it with the printout, only after that he agreed to provide me with free wifi; really poor breakfast.

Solo travelers will love it
I was thrilled that they had parking on-site because I was worried I'd have to leave my car on the street. The staff were helpful, like, one guy at the reception was a comedian, made the check-in process so much more enjoyable after a long drive!
It wasn't exactly a bargain, but honestly, it was still reasonable for what I got.

They had lost the reservation. The lobbyist smoked on the lobby. Rooms were dirty and no air conditioning. Would not recommend.

Located very close to a nice promenade by the sea. Quiet and the ladies try their best, I think.
The first night, I got a miserable room with no air conditioning. Avoid room 20. I am still upset I had to pay that much for that night, a low during my trip to Italy with my daughter. Breakfast was very basic and not enough. No A/C should be mentioned at booking time, because I would have avoided that hotel during the very hot days, at any price

Old plug outlet, normal/modern Finnish plug did not fit into it. Refrigerator was load, and also other noises from the outside and stair hall interrupted. A bit elapsed.

We were given an upgrade from one double and one single room to 2 double rooms, each with a terrace (with very limited sea views; mostly views of the old hotel rooftop and nearby buildings)
Not as clean as some hotels, mold in the bathrooms and a little old/shabby. It is also a bus/cab ride from the city centre.
